- The artwork Description, Title and/or Heading alone is not a complete offering for purchase/sale. Our Website information including Guarantee, Other Art Info, and About Us which together with the Description all form the complete information and terms and conditions of a purchase/sale. Please read this relevant and important information on our Website.
- Where the term artwork is used herein and on our Website, it refers to the artwork offered for purchase/sale.
- A photo image, if shown, is usually an actual image of or on the
artwork. A photo image may be cropped or vary in color and/or appearance from the actual artwork for technical or other reasons.
A frame border, if shown around the photo image, is not usually part of the artwork.
A Hand Signature, if shown in a photo image, is usually
an actual image as on the artwork.
- A Hand Signature, if stated in the Description, may be at date of publication or printing or after,
and may be in color, black, white, crayon, pencil or other medium.
A Hand Signature artwork is as purchased by us and in some cases
may be attributed to the artist, a complimentary signature, or studio signed.
- Hand Dated, if stated in the Description, is the date as shown on the artwork and may be in any medium as stated above.
- Hand Numbered [also known as Exemplaire], if stated in the Description, is the number as shown on the artwork and may include only the number in the edition or both the numberin the edition and the edition size, and may be in any medium as stated above.
- A Signature in Plate or in Block, if stated in the Description, is in the printing plate or block or printing method used in the production of an artwork.
- A Limited Edition, if stated in the Description, may be shown as Hand Numbered as described above, but may also be a Limited Edition publishing or printing and not be stated as such on the artwork with either the number in the edition or the edition size. A Limited Edition artwork may also refer to the total edition size or part of the edition size as published or printed where different types of editions are found within the total edition. In such case, it is common to state the total edition size or the partial edition size, yet both are referred to as the edition size.
- A Signed Limited Edition, if stated in the Description, is a Limited Edition that includes a Hand Signature as described above.
- A Signed and Numbered Limited Edition, if stated in the Descrption, is a Limited Edition that includes a Hand Signaure and is Hand Numbered as described above.
- Other marking [or markings] may be shown on an artwork such as artist's proof, printer's proof, publisher's proof, other type of trade or commercial proof, or similar special type marking. A marking of this type is often in an abbreviated form, such as AP, PP, EA, HC, etc., [where AP refers to Artist's Proof, PP refers to Printer's Proof or Publisher's Proof, EA refers to Epreuve d' Artist, and HC refers to Hors de Commerce, etc.]. A marking may be a French, English or other marking used in art, of which there are many.
- Medium will be as stated in the Description. An Original Lithograph will be stated as such, otherwise the term Lithograph will be used referring to all other methods of lithographic printing. The terms Silkscreen, Serigraph, and Screenprint will be used interchangeably and silk may not be the actal medium of the screen. The terms linocut and linoleum cut are used to mean the same. An Etching or Engraving may be referred to as an original because of the printing method used but may not be the first printing. A First Edition means the first such printing.
- Art definitions and art terms may vary in the trade, please inquire
- Condition is as stated in the Description and as interpreted by us, and may show normal aging.
- Size or a measurement stated in the Description may be approximate, and be the actual or trimmed artwork size. Size may be shown as the image, paper, matted, and/or framed size, as known by us.

- Documented Artwork, if stated in the Description, refers to an artwork that is catalogued or elsewhere referenced. Documented Artwork, Other Document[s], Provenance or Reference, if also stated in the Description, is available. At other times, more documentation may be available and not stated, please inquire.
Documentation provided for an artwork may not be exactly as catalogued or referenced, or may refer to the image only or otherwise vary from the documentation. Catalogued or referenced documentation is known at times not be correct or incomplete. A purchase/sale price and the amount and type of documentation available should be considered.
- The term Documented Art and/or Reference, as used by us, may refer to only the artwork image in a catalogued reference or may refer to a signed or unsigned artwork. Additional reference may be available, please inquire.
- Paper type, if known to us, will be stated in the Description. Paper quality varies considerably, please inquire.
- A Frame, is included if a Framed Size is stated in the Description. Framing by us is usually custom framing and to a conservation standard. If framed by others, the standard is not known to us. Please inquire for further detail.
- A Mat[s], is included if a Mat Size is stated in the Description, which shall also include the number of mats if more than one. Matting by us is usually custom matting and to a conservation standard. If matted by others, the standard is not known to us. Please inquire for further detail.
- Estimate of value, if stated, is based on market data or as interpreted by us which should not be taken as independent.
- A price quote provided by us is valid for 7 days and will be in USA $, not including Shipping and Insurance or other costs
unless stated otherwise.
